War...

The words of....

“Until the philosophy which hold one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned...
Everything is war. Me say war.
That until the're no longer 1st class and 2nd class citizens of any nation...
Until the color of a man's skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes, me say war. That until the basic human rights are equally guaranteed to all without regard to race me say war!”

― Bob Marley

It was only yesterday that I saw a mother treat her son like a rotten apple. It was only yesterday that she treated her son like a commodity and a big fat pain in her neck. He was definitely a 1st grader. Her face gathered only sadness as her child cheerfully ran away from her in search of a toy toward the other end of the store. And soon there was only anger and tears...
But whom am I to judge?
The life she leads and the circumstances surrounding her life are simply oblivious to me.
So whom am I to judge?
Who knows... Maybe the kid has ADHD...
So who the hell am I to judge?
I have eyes... I can see... I've seen happiness... I've seen love... & that wasn't it...

It was only a week ago that I saw a mother care for her son at the movies. He didn't act like the other people at that theater. He was slightly uncomfortable there and couldn't help but make noise while the crowd kept their silence during the screening of the movie. As I couldn't help but glance now and then during his sudden bouts of uncontrollable movement.
My stares were only painted with smiles...
She held his hand as his leg cramped and he teared himself on to the floor...
My glances were trickled with hope...
As I would only hope to be such a parent...
To me she was a hero like my own mother...
To me it was love...

My point was not to compare the mothers we have or the lives we lead or the opposites of this world... That would be prejudicial to logic itself and some of the words I live by...

"If you judge people, you have no time to love them"
                        - Mother Teresa

But clearly we need to start loving ourselves, our children and most of all our world a little more...

It was only centuries ago that the earth gave life to man kind... She allowed us to prosper and thrive at the expense of her other children...
The sun guards her by day, while the moon takes the night shift, watching us eagerly... Hoping that our humanity would only crave for more guidance to take better care of her...  Why is it so difficult to see the bigger picture? Maybe because man kind has a hard time taking care of itself in the first place

It's hard to see beyond a horizon when your blinded by the sun... Yet you stare hoping that you see that silver lining streak across the colors that define it. What we have are dreams and ideals... But that's clearly not enough...

We are home to a planet we call home...
We are home to Earth, a body in the universe that sustains us...
We use it like it's land and seas are! and will be our birth right!
We breath it's air and pollute it's skies like it's only a scratch that needs time to heal...
We forget that we share this planet...
We forget that it can be too late...
&
We forget that if it is too late, we won't have anywhere else to go...
We need to sustain our home and the other's we share it with...
We need to take care of mother nature...

She doesn't ask for much... Well She doesn't ask for anything... It's the least we can try to do...

Throw it out...

I played your game,
I came in first,
I broke no rules,
Or so I believe,
I play it safe,
I'd play it again,
Any game is worth the times,
I see your face...

I'm no fool,
I'm just persistent,
On second thought,
Maybe I am,
In my dreams,
I fly,
Like Superman,
With you in my arms,
But when life gets real,
I'll walk with you...

Hope is difficult,
Yet so human,
Love is different,
Quite so mental,
Life's a bitch,
But then again
As long as you're here...
Let's make it brilliant...

Just stay with me,
Light my birthday candles,
Raise our children with me,
Read those books you read,
Right beside me...
Be my friend,
Be my best friend...

We'll never grow old...
As long as we're together...
So throw it out...
Out the window...
Logic has no place...
As long as you're near...

The Murder Experiment

2 blokes put together an interesting experiment to gauge the responses of different people to a most terrifying crime... The results of the experiment were then compiled into a video and here it is...

Sometimes I wonder if there's any hope for humanity, but then I see that one person fighting back and that's all it takes... One person can make a difference...

P O V E R T Y

In a world where the Economy is driven by debt, there is a staggering amount of people who live in poverty. Outside our cozy homes, our well-furnished rooms, our warm beds and adequate supply of food and clean water is a world enslaved with the cruel jokes of life. I come from a country so amazing and enriched with life where the freedom of her people are wrapped up and put in a box of hypocrisy. As a direct result the majority of her children go hungry and a dictatorship rules over her lands. But the more I tell you about the world, the more your views will begin to change...

If I were to quote the UN....

"Small arms and light weapons destabilize regions; spark, fuel and prolong conflicts; obstruct relief programmes; undermine peace initiatives; exacerbate human rights abuses; hamper development; and foster a 'culture of violence'"

The facts...

According to UNICEF, 22 000 children die every day as a result of poverty around the world.

80% of humanity at the least, lives on less than 10 dollars a day.

121 million children are out of education worldwide.

As the world turns, some things don't change... Some things do... As just one person and one individual there is little I could do to change the world at the moment, but that won't stop me from trying to, in the long run. Right now, I'm going to do what I can do... And that is to give you relevant the information and keep volunteering to change my world the way I can...

Canada now scores a "C" grade and ranks 15th out of 17 other countries for child poverty. With more than 1 in 7 children living in poverty in Canada, it's time to recognize the PROBLEM! Living in the lovely city of Brampton, I just found out that it is estimated that over 20% of children under the age of 15 live in poverty. You need to find out what you can do... However little, there is always something one could do... I volunteer every chance I get and recently I found out about an organization in the region of Peel...

The Knights Table is an organization whose mission is "To serve and empower vulnerable members of our community by providing food and access to resources in a safe environment  through volunteerism and strategic partnerships."

The organization will be holding its 1st annual "Feeding Our Future" Gala Dinner & Silent Auction on the 11th of April, 2013 @ 6 pm.
The event will be held at the Speranza Banquet Hall, 510 Deerhurst Drive, Brampton.
If you wish to reserve your table(s) and/or donate items for the Silent Auction, please contact: Linda or Stephanie: 905.454.8725

It is difficult to live in this world...
It is difficult to survive in this world...
It is difficult to speak out against the wrong in this world...
But it will never, ever prevent you from trying...
SO TRY I WILL...
Let's try and do something for somebody else for a change...

Let me leave you with a few words I heard this evening...
"If you have nothing to give, give them your smile..."

Every...

Everything...
Everyone...
Every moment...
Happens for a reason...
Or so I hope...

Just my input...

@ times...

The world strives for a level of excellence in others which is beyond a standard of decency that it cannot uphold for itself...

What do you think?

Call it "humanity"

In depths of sadness,
My life sinks deep,
In heights of laughter,
My soul grows tall,
With rivers quite wide,
My tears flow true,
With clouds up high,
My perseverance soars...

By oceans colored blue,
They rage, They scream,
But I float on my courage,
With my legs down deep,
By faces colored different,
You judge, You lie,
Shackled by your perceptions,
Of what's right,
Of what I am....

Give up, I won't,
Dumb down, I won't
Cause sorrow, I won't,
But...
Dream, I will,
Conquer my fear, I will
Invade what's wrong, I will

For being human,
People are...
Capable of such evil,
Capable of much good,
A yin with a yang...
Everyone is at war...
But only little is perceived...

This much is true,
We have many names...
This much we comprehend...
That life is precious,
But the thing we all hold most sacred...
Is our fight for self preservation...
All this creation...
Quite so different,
Quite so illogical,
Is what we call humanity...
