The "would you take me back?"

Fairytales and happy endings...
Goosebumps and foot popping kisses...
Cinderella and Prince Charming...

All this love with a pinch of some bibbity bobbity boo and all you've got is some butterfly kisses and nauseating lyrics of love and wonder... We have all felt puppy love and once you have past that awkward sprint of adolescence in order to understand the true makings of a relationship, you might even call yourself wise. But let's be honest, the majority of us would reach 30 and still wonder about true love. Maybe it's a gift or maybe it's just the lucky ones that find it early. You could blame Disney but then again, you must have known that it was all fiction to begin with...
The question here is, would you take your EX back???? There are a number of reasons why relationships fail... Cheating may be the most popular reason, but distance, family rivalry, ambition, profession, almost anything can come between two people. As human beings, we have the power to make any issue, no matter how trivial it is, seem so huge. The bigger the difference seems, the bigger the problem. Ultimately we make choices, as should life be lived. Our lives change with every choice and every change in direction we make. Despite this, some of us actually find our way back to each other. Maybe we leave room for that to happen and maybe we secretly just know who that special someone would be and will continue to keep the door open for them just a cinch...
So would you take someone back??? Someone who use to mean a lot to you and apparently still do... In my opinion it would clearly depend on a lot of things. There is obviously no simple answer. If I were to give my best friend advice about an issue like this... I'd say, you would have to weigh in the reason for the break-up in the first place. Unfortunately a cheater is a cheater... It doesn't matter who he/she cheated on with... Your brother / sister / best friend / dog or garden Noam... In which case you might want to get them some help first... Yet if you entertain them in the first place, kudos to you!!!! Then its a question of whether the same differences still exist??? Or better yet, do they still matter???
People change, they do, they really do. They grow and they learn and most of all they begin to understand... But you know what, if they feel the same way you do, they will show it... It finally comes down to the gesture you or they make. Life is way too short to think of what could happen or what may happen or even what they did to you... Moving on is definitely tough, but so are second chances... Take a chance if YOU want to, take a risk if YOU want to. IT IS YOUR life we are talking about.. In reality it all comes down to chance because no one can understand the matters of the heart...

The FLU

Its the flu season everyone!!! There's people sneezing and coughing everywhere you look... You have the occasional individual sneezing out into open air... All those droplets filled with viral particles released into everyone's immediate vicinity... And even I, have been recently touched by the divine strength of the cold bug... Well you kind of have to look at the bright side of things... At least it isn't bird flu.. :P :D
You could enjoy the week like I have... With loads of kleenex and an intense effort to keep the nostrils clear often leaves behind quite a nose. I'm sure astronauts could spot me from way up there...
Ultimately of course, it will all subside but till then have fun blowing your noses...

Christmas is COMING!!!!!

And I sincerely am not hoping that Santa Claus does not visit us this christmas... We had a hard time getting  him down the chimney last year, cause he had put on a few pounds... And he was incredibly rude too, complaining about the cookies and milk we had left for him... And all for what???? A few awesome gifts???  If you think about it quite critically, it's kind of creepy... A fat dude comes down the chimney to leave everyone some sketchy gifts behind... And once in a while he starts calling people "Whore whore whore"... RUDE!!!!!! He's got all these tiny people slaving over him for no apparent reason but more and more gifts for the good boys and girls... Kind of judgmental don't you think??
All kidding aside I hope father christmas comes down from the north pole and blesses us all with an amazing spectacular CHRISTMAS this year... For everyone out there who might have experienced some kind of loss, my prayers are with you... For those of us who are well off this christmas, why not do some sharing and caring... And for the people out there who aren't in the christmas spirit, a SMILE goes a long way....

The quarter-LIFE Crisis...

On the 23rd of November, I, Yoshith will turn 25... Turning 25 means that you have clearly lived 1/4th of your life already, that is provided that one actually lives to be a 100... I, myself hope not and in that case I might have lived way more than a quarter of my life already... Well that's a personal preference whether or not to live that long... Of course one shouldn't attempt suicide and one must take into account the possibility of a drunk driver running you over or an asteroid smashing in to your head... The chances of that happening, the latter, is even more rarer than getting hit by lightening... The drunk driver scenario does have a higher probability... But hey there's always the heart issues and what not that can get you!!...
According to wiki, there is something called a quarter-life crisis, which is basically the stress of adulthood getting to you, making you doubt yourself and your life choices... At first I thought, "you've got to be kidding me!!!!, there's no such thing as a quarter-life crisis..." But on further reflection of oneself, there might be some truth to this matter... Considering the fact that over the years of countless affairs, psychotic significant others and the obvious effects of raging hormones can really stirr things up, the stress of it all is the least of anyone's problems...
So how do we stupidos cope???!!!! We change our hair, tint it or sometimes cut it all off!! Some of us pierce something!! We nose dive in to relationships which have absolutely no future... Some of us choose to have that experimental phase in life.. And the unlikely few find it very difficult to cope and may do something quite stupid... Regardless, our lives are a big fat balloon full of stink waiting to burst over and over ago... And what do I say to a quarter-life crisis, NOTHING!!! I'd probably show it a funny finger and have an amazing night out with my friends.... If your gonna label everything around you... Life's probably gonna get wayyyy shorter!!!

The Last Monarch...

The last capital of the Sri Lankan Monarchy was called Maha Nuvara and is now referred to as the hill city of Kandy. It is one of the most majestic cities in Sri Lanka with a history that goes as far back as the 1400s. This second largest city of Sri Lanka also embodies the Temple of the tooth, also called the Palace of the tooth relic. So during my vacation in Sri Lanka this year, me and my family decided to pay this site of rich and diverse heritage, a visit.
Arriving by train always has the added perk of enjoying the view....

The most recent tale dates back to the 1800s...
A fourth century tradition  linked to the Sinhalese monarchy was that the protector of the tooth relic was also the ruler of the land.

So as a direct result, the temple of the tooth relic of the Buddha would always be in close proximity to the royal palace. When the British invaded Sri Lanka, they invaded the Kandy Capital, all but few of the royal family were slain... And the ones that did survive, would succumb to disease... Ultimately a coup d'état, ended over 2500 years of Sri Lankan monarchs... Here are a few shots that I took of the palace and surrounding area...

the palace..

The temple of the tooth relic of the Buddha attracts thousands of people everyday... The temple is now referred to as the Dalada Maligawa and is an amazing spectacle of history and art...

The Ancient Parliament...

The Kandy Lake...
Ultimately the tales of our past, echo with so much history... so much faith... and so much truth... History is a funny thing... It tends to govern our very own actions by pulling at where it matters the most... The heart... Our heritage and culture tells each of us a little bit of who we were... who we may become... and who we want to be... Sometimes you don't need a time machine to see the past... All you need to do is follow their footsteps, not to imitate... but to simply learn..

The life...

Galle face, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Sometimes when every little thing goes wrong, it is very easy to give up on everything in general... It is quite easy to blame everything on someone or just bad luck in general.. or better yet "something"... Life is neither your friend nor enemy... I guess I like to believe that life gives each of us a never ending amount of opportunities to make a difference, maybe in somebody else's life but most importantly in our own lives... Obviously at some point in time each of us will cease to exist but that shouldn't stop us from trying...
The world we live in is soooo amazing, if only we take a moment to appreciate it and perhaps take a moment to make a change... I recently attended a lecture and the guest speaker said something quite interesting... well to me at least, it was... "If you change the way you look at things, the things you see will begin to change.."
