Something I found...

“Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.”
― C.S. Lewis

The Door..

My Free Write Friday offering based on the prompt from Kellie at;
http://kellieelmore.com/2013/01/25/fwf-free-write-friday-seven-doors/

Given a choice to unlock a mystical door to a far off kingdom where magic was power, animals talked and no one grew old, would you open it?
LET me THINK...
If I had a choice of 7 places to be transported to, I'd probably lock the door and forget about the whole thing...
Forget magic and talking animals, I clearly treasure my comforts...
Hot water, a washroom where there's a flush involved, THE INTERNET!!!, and how could I ever forget Facebook?!!? People would wonder and ponder of my whereabouts... LOL

         But If I were to be serious and I had to pick between seven doors leading to seven places;

Narnia  Neverland  Wonderland  Hogwarts  Camelot  Middle Earth  Westeros

I would probably pick the door leading to Narnia, clearly there would be much to learn from such an experience. Let me tell you why the other 6 didn't make the cut. Hogwarts; Although the thought of an adventure sounds ridiculously tempting, I would actually have to do some sort of magic to survive. A muggle in Hogwarts? They would probably make me forget everything anyway.  And without magic, I'd probably end up being eaten by a tree. Westeros, is a place I have no knowledge of and I wouldn't travel to a place I have absolutely no clue about. Ignorance is blissful only when you're in civilization.
Middle Earth is quite an enticing choice but clearly not in the middle of a war. There is bound to be another one sooner or later. Meeting Merlin and taking a look around Camelot, that would have been an amazing opportunity. But I'd rather be educated in some sort of defensive arts before undertaking such a journey where I would need to know how to wield some kind of weapon in order to survive.
Wonderland? No way!!! There's way too many people with mental disorders up there. You've got a mad hatter, a crazy rabbit, a mouse in need of anger management, a queen with a love of heads or the lack thereof... It would be entertaining but yet again I might end up headless. To be in Neverland, is to be young forever. To fly around and bug a grown man with a hook and a crocodile thrown into the mix of it. Hmmmm.... I would rather watch an episode of American Idol at home, I'm sure I would love the drama between Nicki and Mariah wayyy better... Why Narnia?? Simply because there would be much to see, much to imagine and much adventures to have... Plus, I might arrive there and be crowned a King...

The Kande Viharaya, Sri Lanka

It's pretty much a monthly ritual in our family, I would say to visit the temple... But since my family moved to Canada, every time we would visit Sri Lanka, it would be a necessity to visit the temple... What most people do not know is that Buddhism is a philosophy and not a religion. It's a way of life, we may go to temple and pray, but it is often blessings that we give for the great and the loved that have left us... But there is always something that calms you at a Buddhist temple... But I find that true at most sites of worship...
Any how here's a bunch of pictures I happen to take at a very sacred site in Sri Lanka, the Kande Viharaya...

The meaning of the word "Buddha" is the "Awakened One".... Enlightened and aware of the world, the universe exactly as it is...

"Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared..."
- Buddha

"However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good will they do you if you do not act on upon them?"
-Buddha

Remembering my Best Friend...

It's been 2 years to this day that I lost my best friend ever... It may be hard for most people to relate but if you've had a pet.. You'd know where I'm coming from... They become a part of the family, not just a pet... He was not only my best friend but also my lil bro... & I still miss him... Although he is gone... He will never be forgotten...

Thank you for being a part of our family...
Thank you for being my bro...
Thank you for always being there for me...

LOVE U always!!

The Resolution...

“New Year's Resolution: To tolerate fools more gladly, provided this does not encourage them to take up more of my time.”
- James Agate

Kidding aside, what are your resolutions? Would you keep em?
Well I'm going to share with you, a few of mine...

1. I shall no longer pig out at the sight of mama's rice & curry, no matter what she says... "Eat a little and cut down on your lunch tomo.." Like that would ever happen... & I will join a gym FINALLY...

2.  I shall TRY... Try being the key word... Not to consume as much chocolates as in 2012... Despite the  broken hearts, lonely moments and freakishly annoying memories... No more friggin  antioxidant filled seeds bearing pimples in its aftermath...

3. I promise to try my very best to watch more movies... YES! More movies... :) :)

4. I make a solemn promise to watch "Friends" for the 20th consecutive time...

5. If I had forgotten about you last year & you clearly didn't get a dose of my annoying sarcastic word vomit, I promise I will get to you as soon as possible...

6.  If I don't smile as often this year, everyone of you are given the privilege of slapping  me silly...

7. I will try to be nicer and more considerate of my friends and their feelings...

8. I will try much harder to avoid wishing people on the wrong date for their birthday...

9. I will take an oath to continue my wacky ways till of course I die...

10. And most of all I will laugh as often and as much as humanly possible...

11. I will strive to write more corny & depressing poems, so stay tuned for that...

12. I will work harder on my novel... May it tank or hit the top charts, as long as I finish something this passionate about...

13. I will make a conscious effort to write more, possibly annoy the masses, inspire the few and maybe put a smile on at least one person's face...

HappY NEW YeaR

EVERYONE!!!!!!!
